Pensacola - Florida's westernmost city; settled by Tristan de Luna and 1500 colonists in 1559 six years before St. Augustine, but abandoned two years later. Pensacola was not established again as a permanent settlement until 1752. Today Pensacola encompasses miles of beautiful, relatively undeveloped beaches as well as two historic districts, museums, forts, and battle sites.
